The Central Rabbinical Congress, the largest Hasidic institution, released a powerful statement earlier this year against Zionism in general and against organizations such as AIPAC and the ADL in specific.
One must understand the magnitude and significance of this unprecedented step. The CRC’s rabbinical body includes more than 300 Rabbis throughout the USA and Canada. The organization was established by the Satmar Rebbe, Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum, in the year 1953; its raison d’etre was to ‘serve as an umbrella rabbinical body to unite the newly transplanted Haredi communities, and to provide said communities with all of their religious needs.’ (Wikipedia page)
Since its establishment, the CRC has provided spiritual support for the many Jews under its governance. The CRC is also the largest Kosher Certifier in the Kosher food market, with thousands of items under their Rabbinical supervision. The CRC actively participates in many issues that grapple the community and continually assist individuals in need. To this date, their Rabbinical statements and/determinations were articulated in Lashon Hakodesh (Biblical Hebrew) only with its genre being for Halachic matters in specific. (Jewish law).
However, with the rapid ascend of Zionist organizations such as the ADL and AIPAC, who fight vigorously to get the Zionist definition of the Jewish identity accepted in the world, the CRC has, in a historical measure, stepped away from its accepted protocol and released a scathing denunciation against Zionism and its organs as ADL and AIPAC.
An excerpt: As American Jews, we are deeply opposed to politicizing anti-Semitism. Also, drawing attention to every minor infraction only gives rise to more hatred. The result is a loss for us and a gain for the Israeli immigration agencies, who benefit from any rise in anti-Semitism in the Jewish Diaspora.
Now, it begs the question, why are we writing about this letter months after its release? In a world where the Jewish name is being exploited and distorted by the State of Israel, the importance of this monumental statement has become critical to be seen by the public. We have realized a trend within the halls of social media. Many questionable statements by spokesmen from the Zionist camps received an unprecedented exposure while their grasp of Judaism remains strictly elementary or even less.
Conversely, the statement by illustrious Rabbis, who toil in Torah learning all day, has been glanced at the most but overall, categorically ignored. It has become a burning issue during the war when Israel is using all their power to speak for Jews and Judaism.
As a result, we are inserting their holy words again and hope it reaches all those yearning for truth against those who are battling to silence it.
